My name is Marta Ginter and I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and Certified Babywearing Educator (via Center for Babywearing Studies). For the past couple of years I have supported over 100 new families during births and/or postpartum period.
I am a mom to two girls and it were my own pregnancies, births, breastfeeding and babywearing experiences that led me to working with new families. I believe in the importance of supporting all caregivers in this unbelievably amazing but at times also challenging journey of pregnancy, birth and parenthood. I want to help women have the best birth experience and to support them in their choices and decisions. From the first birth that I attended as a doula, I knew how important it is for women to have continuous, non-judgemental and supportive assistance during labor.
I am a strong advocate for babywearing, I teach how to do it safely and comfortably to create this invaluable bond between the baby and the caregiver. I have a deep interest in topics ranging from skin to skin through kangaroo care to babywearing. Nursing and babywearing often go together, hand in hand, and my lactation counselor background allows me to assist in combining the two. I also volunteer in a local chapter of Babywearing International as an educator. I live in NYC with my husband and children. In addition to English, I speak Polish and Spanish.
