Babywearing class for expecting parents. Come to learn how to wear your newborn baby safely and comfortably. Try a wide variety of carriers with a weighted demo doll or bring a carrier that you already own and practice using it.
Come and learn about baby-wearing, try different carriers and chat about safety and newborn positioning. Come with your baby to try on new carriers or troubleshoot the carriers you own.

This workshop is for doulas (birth or postpartum), lactation consultants and counselors, as well as other birth professionals or individuals working with new families and newborn babies.
In this workshop you will learn how to use a variety of carriers with newborns and how to help caregivers use the carriers they own safely and comfortably.
You will learn how to use:
- stretchy wraps, such as moby;
- woven wraps;
- ring slings;
- meh dai's;
- soft structured carriers, such as ergo;
- pouches;
- narrow based carriers, such as baby bjorn;
- hybrid carriers, such as k'tan.
We will also talk about traditional carriers, such as rebozo and wax fabric, such as kanga.
You will learn how to recognize an unsafe carrier or unsafe position.
You will learn babywearing safety guidelines.
You will learn how to breastfeed in each carrier.

Marta Ginter is a Certified Babywearing Consultant (CBWS) and a Volunteer Babywearing Educator for Babywearing International of NYC. She leads free monthly babywearing meetings in the Bronx. She's also a birth and postpartum doula, CLC and a teacher.
